Emotions of the heart

The abstract expression Emotions of the Heart is inspired by Jeremiah 17:9–10: “The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? I, the Lord, search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”

This work explores the tension between hidden emotions and divine truth, reflecting on the complexity of the human heart and the searching of God.

These paintings were inspired by pressed, dried orchids I’ve kept over time. I wanted to capture their beauty even as they faded a reminder of the verse in Isaiah 40:8:
The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God remains forever.

Through these abstract pieces, I reflect on how everything in life changes and passes, but God’s word and love never do. The orchids became my way of expressing that something once fragile, now preserved in color and texture.
